The coin has a circular hole punched from the obverse, near the edge at 9o'clock on the obverse. Measurements are; diameter 16.6mm, thickness 0.8mm and weight 0.93g.

A copper alloy Post medieval probable coin, probably a Scottish twopence of the Stuart period, about AD 1567 - 1694. The coin is badly worn, bent and cracked, making further definition of the type impossible. It is the right size for a two pence, and it may have a NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSET legend. Dimensions; diameter 17.5mm, thickness 0.8mm and weight 0.5g. It could also be a copper alloy imitation of a Scottish coin, or a 17th century trade token, or a small jetton.

See North number 2248 on page 161 of North Volume 2 (1991). The coin is 16.36mm diameter, and weighs 0.83g. The coin is perforated at about 10o'clock on the obverse, just inside the legend. The hole was probably made from the reverse, but there appears to be displaced metal on both faces.
