An incomplete Medieval silver coin; a voided long cross penny of Henry III (1216 - 1272), Class 5a (1250 - 1256), probably minted by Nicole at Canterbury. See North number 991. Part of the edge of the flan is missing.
Measurements are; diameter 18.2mm and thickness in its bent form 1.3mm. Thickness of the metal itself is 0.5mm and weight 1.0g.

An incomplete copper alloy possible Early Medieval to Medieval stirrup terminal dating from AD 1000 - 1200. Only the projecting loop and a small part of the terminal survives. A loop extends from the outer face. It is 5.9mm wide and oval in cross-section. The rest of the object is broadly triangular and has a conccave face opposite the loop. It has no obvious means of attachment, but silvery material on the concave face suggests that it was soldered in place originally. A copper alloy fragment of a Medieval strap end, probably dating from AD 1200 - 1400. It could be one plate of a strap end, or the central spacer of a three part strap end. It is sub-rectangular, angled at one end with a small central knop at the apex. There is a rivet hole near the shaped end.

A fragment probably from an Early Medieval sleeve clasp (wrist clasp), probably of Hines form B18 dating from AD 450 - 570. The surviving part is a bar is sub square cross-section, decorated with transverse grooves and ridges. It is cast in one with a plate which is moulded into roundels or annulets which have a concave centre. On the reverse is a rectangular scar, at right angles to the bar, possibly from a missing projection. Measurements are; length 15.1mm, width 9.4mm, thickness 2.3mm and weight 1.15g. A copper alloy Medieval or Post Medieval buckle dating from AD 1300 - 1900. It is a single looped rectangular buckle. The bar is square in cross-section and in line with the frame. The sides curve into the outer edge which is bevelled. Measurements are; length 15.8mm, width 23.1mm, thickness 3.6mm and weight 2.96g. Compare Whitehead (2003) number 126 but this very plain form could also be Post Medieval. The pin is missing.

A copper alloy Medieval buckle plate of probable medieval date, about AD 1200 - 1400. It is rectangular, shorter than it is wide, and folded round the bar of a copper alloy buckle frame of which only the bar survives. The sheet plate has a rounded attachment end and a slot for the missing pin. There are two dome headed copper alloy rivets at the attachment end. Measurements are; length 15.5mm, width 19.0mm, thickness 4.5mm and weight 3.18g.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch, a type of hinged Trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. The integrally cast headloop is missing. The wings are worn but rectangular and hide an incomplete tubular housing for the missing axis bar. The hinged pin does not survive but there is a slot for its head to fit into. An incomplete Post Medieval copper alloy cast spherical (crotal) bell dating from AD 1650 - 1850. It has an angular suspension loop cast in one with the upper hemisphere, and an oval hole through it. The bell is not decorated. It has two circular sound holes in the upper half, a prominant median ridge and a slot in the lower half. The bell wall on one side of the slot is missing. The pea is also missing. Measurements are; total length 40.9mm, diameter 29.7mm and weight 21.05g. The suspension loop is 15.5mm long, 14.1mm wide and 4.1mm thick.

A complete copper-alloy probable so-called 'chess piece' style furniture fitting or mount dating to the Roman period, about AD 43-410.
It takes the form of a chess pawn, with a prominently knopped head with a collar below, and a conical base. The bottom surface is oval and flat. Projecting from the base is an integrally cast short copper-alloy shank with a perforation through it. The hole is 2.2mm diameter. The mount is a mid green colour with a smooth patina. It is 31.2mm long, 20.6mm wide and 17.1mm thick. It weighs 17.6g.

A sub-triangular, cast lead perforated artefact, probably a weight, dating from the Post Medieval period, AD 1600 - 1900. It is flat in profile, and sub-triangular in plan, with curved sides and rounded corners. The edges are bevelled. The reverse is pitted, perhaps from the casting process. The narrow end is perforated with an irregular hole of 3-5mm diameter. The weight is 41.9mm long, 23.9mm wide and 5.9mm thick. It weighs 36.4g. The mass does not obviously fit into standard units of measurement, but the weight may have been used to add mass, such as a line or net weight.

A spherical, cast lead perforated artefact of unknown date, probably Medieval to Post medieval, AD 1200 - 1800, probably used as a weight. The hole is wider at one end than the other (4.4mm diameter to 2.7mm diameter). It is 14.6mm in diameter and 12.5mm thick. It weighs 15.5g (0.54oz). It is slightly over mass to be a half ounce weight (which should be 14.1g), though it could be a half ounce in the Apothecaries' system. It is often suggested that objects of this shape are beads or net or line weights for fishing or birding.
