A copper alloy Roman coin; an As of Domitian (81 - 96) as Augustus. The coin was probably minted in AD 86 or 90 - 91 at Rome, MONETA AVGVST/I. Moneta is shown on the reverse with scales and a cornucopia. The coin has a diameter of approximately 27mm. RIC II (1st ed), 395; RIC II (2nd ed), cf. nos. 492-3 and 708; Sear's "Roman Coins and their Values" volume 1, number 2807. The coin appears to have COS XV, but it could be COS XII.
