A copper alloy Roman coin; a dupondius of Domitian (AD 81 - 96), probably dating to AD 87 (Reece Period 4). VIRTVTI AVGVSTI S C reverse type depicting Virtus standing right, resting foot on helmet, holding spear and parazonium. Mint of Rome. The coin is 26.7mm in diameter, 2.2mm thick and weighs 7.18g. RIC II, Part 1 (second edition) Domitian / p. 302, cf. no. 540. Compare http://numismatics.org/ocre/id/ric.2_1(2).dom.540 or similar. The coin has no patina surviving.

A copper alloy Roman coin; probably an As which is very worn. Asses were issued from 23BC - 260 AD. A bust facing right can be seen on the obverse, possibly of Domitian (81 - 96), and a seated figure on the reverse which is possibly Annona or one of two captives. The legends are illegible. The coin has a diameter of 27mm and is 2.7mm thick. It weighs 6.5g.
