A rim sherd from a Medieval ceramic vessel. The fabric is fairly soft, gritty and is pale orange coloured. It has frequent, fairly poorly sorted angular quartz inclusions that break the surface, as well as dark grey grit. The rim is fairly upright and thickened on the outer edge to form a D-shaped (in cross-section) lip. About 7.5% of the rim survives, and the diameter appears to have been about 180mm. The sherd is 43.5mm long, 20.7mm high and 14.4mm thick. 13.1g.

It has frequent large angular quartz inclusions as well as smaller grey and brown grit. The rim is upright and thickened on both faces to make a lozenge shaped or sub-square moulding in cross-section. Less than 10% of the rim survives, and the diameter would have been about 220mm. A rim sherd from a Medieval ceramic vessel. The fabric is hard and gritty, buff to brown coloured throughout. It has fairly frequent angular quartz inclusions which often break the surface, as well as dark brown and grey grit and some mica. The rim is upright and thickened slightly on the inner face where it is bulbous, and thickened on the outer face to form a more angular ledge. Less than 7.5% of the rim survives, which would probably have had a diameter of about 230mm. The object is 24.1mm long, 48mm high, 12.1mm thick and weighs 12.72g.

Less than 7.5% of the base perimeter survives, and the original base diameter may have been about 240mm. The wall projects at an angle of about 80 degrees from the flat base. The object is 26mm long, 42.5mm wide, 10.7mm thick and weighs 13.8g.

A strap handle from a Medieval ceramic vessel; a jug. The fabric is hard and fine-textured, mainly light grey with some area of orange colouration. No inclusions are visible. It is sub-oval in cross-section, with the inner face being rounded, and the outer one carinated, but the ridge is not central. The handle tapers at one end. The outer face and part of the inner face is covered with a yellow green glaze. It is 52.2mm long, 26.3mm in width, 14.9mm thick and weighs 18.25g.

The rim is upright, rounded and rolled over against itself on the outer face to form a beaded rim. Just over 5% of the rim perimeter survives, which would have been about 210mm in diameter. A rim sherd from a ceramic vessel of possible Roman date. The fabric is hard, fine and buff throughout. It has fairly sparse grey grit inclusions, with a few larger particles. The rim is abraded making the orientation difficult to determine. There appears to be an upright rounded rim, with an angled outer face decorated with two incised circumferential lines. This forms a flange. There is a lid seating on the inner face. A white layer is visible on the surface of the ceramic on the upper edge of the lid seating. It has frequent angular quartz inclusions. The rim has a rounded top and is slightly everted. The lower edge of the sherd starts to flare outwards. About 15% of the rim survives, and it would have had a diameter of about 70mm. The object is 21.1mm high, 34.5mm wide, 8.7mm thick and weighs 7.48g.

A rim sherd from a probably Medieval open vessel. The fabric is hard and gritty, grey in the centre with patches of orange on the surfaces. It has frequent angular quartz inclusions and less frequent. less angular yellow grit inclusions. The rim is upright and square. It has a recessed band on the inner face just below the rim. The wall is straight. Very little of the rim survives, and the original diameter was probably about 400mm. It is so slightly curved, that it could in fact be a piece of slightly irregular tile. The object is 55.5mm long, 47mm wide, 12.1mm thick and weighs 39.14g.

An incomplete copper alloy leg from a copper alloy cooking vessel of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (about AD 1200 - AD 1700). The probable vessel fragment is sub triangular with an oval cross section. The leg is flat on one surface, and rounded on the other. A concave surface is present at the top of the leg, this is the remains of the inside of the cauldron or cooking vessel. The lower end is an old, patinated break.
