A Medieval ceramic fragment which is undiagnostic, possibly part of a handle or rim, probably of Medieval date, AD 1100 - 1500. It has a hard fabric with an irregular texture, and is buff coloured throughout. It has fairly frequent poorly sorted inclusions of dark purple probable stone with some quartz and some grey flecks. The surface is irregular, but part has an imprinted pattern of cross-hatching, possibly from being rested on woven textile before firing.
