A fragment from a probably Roman greyware ceramic vessel dating from AD 43 - 410. The fragment is a rim sherd. The fabric is irregular, hard, grey in the core fading to pale orange on the surfaces. It has fairly frequent, poorly sorted quartz, grit and black inclusions which break the surface of the vessel. The rim has a rounded top and projects, with a single groove round the angle between the flange and the wall. The wall is quite upright. A rim fragment from a Roman ceramic Samian Ware vessel dating from AD 80 - 260. The fragment is a rim sherd probably from a moulded bowl. Only a short length of the rim survives with an undecorated rhomboid shaped portion of the body of the vessel. The rim is beaded. Below the rim on the exterior surface there is a wide groove. The fabric is fine, hard, dark orange throughout with sparse and very small grey inclusions. The exterior and interior surface are both decorated with a dark orange-red slip. A copper alloy sheet attachment plate from a strainer, vessel or other utensil, of probable Medieval to Post Medieval date, AD 1350 - 1650. The surviving part consists of three pieces of sheet copper alloy fixed together with rolled sheet metal rivets. The middle plate is the largest and is triangular, with a bent and projecting rectangular element, extending from the longest side of the triangle. A fragment of a Medieval or Post medieval vessel, probably the lower part of a leg from a cooking pot dating from AD 1200 - 1700. It is a flat D shaped in cross-section with a central rib on the front face, and it flares out at the base into a three toed foot. There are traces of sooting. Measurements are; length 36.8mm, width 29.4mm, thickness 17.1mm and weight 49.80g.
It is similar to figure 4a of Butler, Green and Payne (2009) Finds Research Group Datasheet 41, which suggests a date range of AD 1200 - 1700.

An assemblage of eleven handles from Medieval ceramic jugs dating from about AD 1200 - 1500. All the vessel fragments are made from a hard fabric of fine texture with frequent small grey grit and sand inclusions. Some have a pale slip and all have a yellow to olive green glaze, often on one face only. Many of the handles are decorated with deep grooves or ribbing. A copper alloy possible Iron Age or Roman tankard handle dating from about 300 BC - 200 AD. Only a fragment survives. It is openwork and in the form of two teardrop shaped loops, joined back to back, and both broken at the pointed ends. There is no decoration. The breaks are worn and patinated. The handle is curved. It is 43mm long, 19.4mm wide and 4mm thick. 9.15g. It has a well developed brown patina, which is light green where it is chipped.

A Medieval or Post Medieval (12th to mid 19th centuries) cooking vessel leg. In plan the leg is a sub-rectangle with both ends broken. The outer face has a central vertical ridge. The surface has a glossy brown patina. The leg measures 48.6mm long, 39.4mm wide and 11.9mm thick. 105g.

Two adjoining wall sherds from a ceramic vessel of Medieval date, about AD 1200 - 1500. The fabric is hard and fine textured. There are frequent, poorly sorted grey inclusions (grit?), angular quartz, rounded sand, and some mica. The core and internal face is dark grey, with a buff outer face. The vessel is decorated with a lightly incised double circumferential line. The break is fresh. Together, the sherds measure 73mm tall, 131mm wide and the wall is 6.7mm to 8mm thick. 72.54g.

The handle is circular in section (25.5mm diameter), Flattening and flaring at the surviving end to 40.4mm wide and 19.4mm thick. Overall it is 79.8mm long, 40.4mm wide and 25.5mm thick. 63.52g.

A rim sherd from a ceramic vessel; a jug of Medieval date, about AD 1200 - 1500. The fabric is fairly hard and fine textured. There are sparse, well sorted rounded white inclusions (sand?) and some mica. The core is dark grey, with bright orange surfaces.
The rim is simple and slightly flared. It is about 110mm in diameter. 12mm below the rim is scarring where a handle ov oval section has broken off. The scar is about 47mm wide and 29mm tall. The sherd is 55.6mm wide, 53.9mm tall, 12.4mm thick at the rim, and the wall is 10.7mm thick. 64.1g.

Two rim sherds from ceramic vessels of Medieval date, about AD 1200 - 1500. The fabric is fairly hard and fine textured. The breaks are abraded and obscured by soil. The core is dark grey, with bright orange surfaces. The smaller sherd has some external glaze surviving; it is clear so appears yellowy brown over the orange surface.

The rim is from a shallow dish of about 280mm diameter with an everted and thickened rim.
