A Medieval to Post-Medieval (AD 1450-1800) sheet copper-alloy rivet. It is 23mm long and weighs 0.61g. The shank narrows from 5.7mm in diameter to 2.53mm. The head has been left open rather than being folded over as is usual.
The rivet is made from a kite-shaped piece of copper-alloy rolled into a cone. It is thought that these objects were used for repairing metal vessels.
Egan (2005, p.101) suggests that these were a later form a rivet, which took over from the Medieval folded staples in the late 15th to the mid to late 16th century and continued in use into the 18th century.

A white metal rivet with a domed head and a hollow tubular shaft which is 2.2mm in diameter (externally) and 4.73mm long. The head has a diameter of 3.6mm. The sides of the head are damaged with gouges and nicks. At just 0.05g, the rivet is very light, raising the possibility that it is made from a modern white metal such as aluminium.
Another example from the same site is SWYOR-2D6586. Similar copper alloy rivets but of unknown date are YORYM-E321F1, SWYOR-A17354 and SF-A8EB38. A silver example of Early Medieval date is STAFFS-3A15A3, and SWYOR-0201A1 is an Early Medieval mount wi…

A silver rivet, of uncertain date, but probably Early Medieval based on the other objects found in the same location which is a known Early Medieval productive site.
The rivet is a solid cylinder of silver, with a slight flattening and expansion at one end, and a larger, almost domed head at the other end. It is 11.75mm long, the shaft is about 2.5mm in diameter, the domed head is 3mm wide, 4mm long and 2mm thick.
Similar copper alloy rivets of similar shape, but unknown date are YORYM-E321F1, SWYOR-A17354 and SF-A8EB38. A silver example of Early Medieval date is STAFFS-3A15A3, …

A copper-alloy rivet which is possibly Medieval or Post Medieval. It has a very flat roughly circular head and an integral cylindrical shaft. The date of this possible rivet is unknown but it is perhaps most likely to be medieval, its function is also uncertain. Compare SF-EAE9D4.

A copper-alloy possible rivet, consisting of a cylindrical shaft with an integral flat and roughly circular head at each end. The shaft is bent at one end. The other end is worn or flattened on one side. It measures 24.5mm in length and 7.9mm in width (across the larger flat disc). The date of this possible rivet is unknown. It is perhaps most likely to be medieval, but its function is also uncertain. A similar but smaller example recorded on the database is SF-EAE9D4. The rivet has a green and brown patina.
