A corroded iron object, perhaps a thumb latch from a door mechanism of Post Medieval to Modern date. The object is rectangular in section and tapers to a point. It is broken at the wider end where it expands into a thin rounded plate. The object is corroded and rusty but in otherwise good condition.
It was found on Towton Battlefield, so has been recorded in case it is a Medieval object from the battle of 1461.
