A Medieval cast copper alloy ornamental letter 'E', probably dating from the 13th-14th century, probably from a memorial or monumental brass. It is complete except for the tip of one serif. The letter is a closed Lombardic E with an angular back (similar to those on Edward II pennies). It is flat on both obverse and reverse but slightly smoothed on the obverse. It has a mid green colour. There are no attachment holes for rivets, so it was presumably set into a stone memorial or similar.
