A copper alloy amulet, probably depicting a Sphinx (normally having the head of a woman, the body of a lion and the wings of a bird). The head is slightly turned to the her right; the hair is indistinct, either in short curls or in thick braids. The wings are corroded and incomplete but appear to be thick, flat and simplified. The neck swells out into the a woman's chest with breasts clearly shown. Just below the breasts is a thick moulded ridge across the body, with a narrower ridge above and below.
