A copper alloy jetton (reckoning counter) dating from the early post medieval period. The jetton has a diameter of 26.3mm and is 0.5mm thick. It weighs 1.4g. It is very worn, but just enough of the design is visible to be able to identify it as a Ship Penny Jetton of Hans Krauwinckel I (1562 – 1586). It depicts a sailing ship on the obverse, and four fleur-de-lis in a lozenge on the reverse. For reference see Mitchiner (1988) Jettons, Medalets and Tokens, Volume 1, numbers 1480 – 1485.

A copper-alloy jetton of Nuremberg of the ‘French Shield’ type dating from c. 1500-1525. The flan has been pierced at 5 o’clock on the obverse and there is also a crack in the flan at 1 o’clock. It is 29mm in diameter and 0.9mm thick. It weighs 3.25gm. For reference see Mitchiner, Vol. 1, No. 1069.

Jetton A copper alloy Nuremberg jetton of the Krauwinkel family, dating from the early Post Medieval period, probably 1543 - 1620. It is a Rose / orb jetton similar to1433 ff in Mitchiner 1988, vol 1 p. 418. It has a diameter of 20.2mm a thickness of 0.8mm and it weighs 0.87g. The jetton is pierced near the edge with a circular hole.

A post- medieval copper alloy jetton of the ‘Rose Orb’ type. It is 20.5mm in diameter and 0.5mm thick. It weighs 0.5gm. It dates from the late 16th or early 17th century and was struck in Nuremberg by an anonymous issuer. The legend is fictitious and is just made up of straight strokes. It is similar to Mitchiner number 1464 on page 428 of Jetons Medalets and Tokens.

The jetton is bent and has a piece missing from the edge. It is very think and is a reddish copper colour.

A copper alloy Post Medieval jetton of the Lion of St Mark type. It is very worn, so the legends are illegible, but it is probably an anonymous issue dating from about 1500 - 1570, of the type where the lion's halo projects above the inner circle and interrupts the inscription. Compare Mitchiner number 1115 on page 363. The jetton has been pierced near the edge of the flan at 5o'clock on the obverse. The edges of the jetton are incomplete and the patina is non-existant.

It is a rose orb type with the unusual "special" tressure of three simple arches with ornaments (annulets) in the external angles. The legends are fictitious. The jetton has been pierced at 2pm on the orb side. Compare examples in Mitchiner on pages 394 - 401, but there is not an exact parallel. The jetton has an uneven brown patina.

This jetton has the unusual spelling of WOVLF which is only noted on one Mitchiner example, number 1718 on page 485, though this example is better paralleled by Neumann number 32340 cited in Mitchiner, which has the same reverse legend. The jetton is pierced at 12o'clock on the obverse. The edges are damaged and the jetton has a dusty brown patina.
