Copper alloy medieval jetton which is 1mm thick and has a diameter of 19.5mm. Obverse: A rose with five petals in a hexagon with concave sides within a circle and a beaded border. Berry’s type 7: Rose within a reverse tressure (Berry 1974). Reverse: a cross recercelee (cross with divided and curled ends) with a pellet in each angle. Beaded border with a circular line dividing the border from the field. The jetton is probably one from the reign of Edward II (Berry 1974) and dates from circa AD1307 – 1327.

Copper alloy medieval padlock key for a barb spring padlock. The key has a lozenge shaped bow with a circular hole through it. There is a collar under the bow then the stem is oval in section. Three pieces of a late medieval to early post-medieval copper alloy probable buckle with very tall sub-conical settings, now containing white paste only. A medieval lead alloy seal matrix. The matrix is a pointed oval shape with slightly damaged edges and is 27.3mm long and 17.9mm wide. There is an elongated quatrefoil in the centre of the die with the legend round the edge. On the reverse is a central raised rib with a curved raised line on either side of it, like a fleur-de-lis. At the bottom of the rib is a raised lug with a transverse hole forming a suspension loop. At the lug the matrix is 6.2mm thick. Part of a medieval copper alloy barb spring padlock. Only the case and the end of the hasp survive. The case is octagonal in section and has a rounded, roughly T shaped keyhole in one end. At the other end there is a notch in one side of the case and at the bottom of the notch is a narrow bar across the inside of the case chamber dividing it in half. A copper alloy book mount of medieval date, Howsam type B.1.4. The mount is a sub-square shape with a lozenge-shaped knop projecting from each corner. Each knop contains a rivet hole, but only one knop is complete; the others are broken across the holes. No rivets survive. The mount is 33.8mm long, measuring from the complete knop to the opposite (broken) corner. It is 29.8mm in surviving width. The centre of the mount is domed, and is 7.5mm high with a hollow back. A copper alloy shield shaped mount that is 38.5mm long and 32.2mm wide at the top. The mount is decorated on the front with an incised square border in the top left quarter containing traces of red enamel. No further details of the design have survived. On the reverse there is an integral lug in the centre near the top. The lug curves upwards and to the left, and tapers, but appears to be broken off at the end. It projects 11.4mm from the mount which is 2.7mm thick. The mount is likely to be medieval.

A large cast copper alloy thimble. This medieval thimble is domed with straight sides and is 21.6mm high with a diameter of 20.8mm at the rim. The rim (which is slightly damaged) is slightly thickened. The sides and top of the thimble are covered with circular indentations. They are not arranged in vertical lines but owing to patches of corrosion, it is unclear whether they form a single spiral or concentric rings, if either. An almost complete cast copper alloy spherical bell which is 38.6mm in diameter. There is a central projecting rib round the diameter and an oval suspension hole in the sub-rectangular projecting tab at the top which makes the bell 48.2mm high. There are two sound holes in the top half, one each side of the suspension loop. The top half is decorated with 8 petal shaped loops, each containing a dot, radiating from the suspension loop. A sub-circular lead token which is probably of late medieval or early post medieval date. The token has a rounded and thickened edge. It is 16.9mm in diameter and is 2.7mm thick. The front design is in relief and is a crude "M" with 5 irregularly placed pellets round it. The reverse is uneven and has smeared marks on it but is undecorated. This token probably dates to the Tudor period and may be an agricultural tally. Similar examples can be seen in Fletcher ( 2005).

The internal diameter of the hole is 7.9mm. There is a diagonal groove across one face of the whorl. There are other fainter scratches on the surface. The metal is a creamy yellow colour.

The whorl is 25.4mm long and has a diameter of 18.9mm. The hole has an internal diameter of 7.7mm. One end of the whorl is somewhat squashed and there are deep ends in the surface. A lead alloy object which may be a weight. The object is a triangular prism shape with a slightly rounded top and a slightly concave base. It is 20.3mm tall, 20.3mm wide and 12mm thick. The sides are unmarked but there are deep diagonal parallel lines scored in the base. This object is not pierced but there are examples similar in other ways on page 31 of Biggs and Withers (2000) Lead Weights. The object probably dates from the medieval period.

A silver medieval coin of Edward I minted in Newcastle. Class 10ab. The crown is not clearly visible on this example, but this could be an early coin of this class if the side fleur-de-lis of the crown is trifoliate rather than bifoilate, which looks possible. It dates from 1272 to 1307.
