A Medieval silver coin, a penny of Edward III (AD 1327 - 1377), probably of the Treaty series (AD 1363 - 1369), Durham mint, North 1272/2, but with the annulet stops worn to look like pellets. There is an extra pellet in the reverse legend before DVR.
It could also possibly be of the florin coinage (AD 1344 - 1351), or the Treaty period transitional series (AD 1361 - 1363). Compare North (1991) Volume II, numbers 1124 and 1229. It is 18.8mm diameter, 0.8mm thick and 1g.
