A Modern metal wear pad from the coulter for a seed drill, originally recorded as an unidentified object of probably Modern date. It is a sub-rectangular block of a dense gray magnetic metal, perhaps steel. On end is rounded, and the other end is exceedingly worn, tapering in thickness due to wear on the upper face, and unevenly convex across the end. The other edges are bevelled, so the top face is smaller than the bottom, and the sides are carinated, with the carination closer to the bottom face. A circular perforation near the rounded end is filled with a spiral coil of what a…

A silver heart shaped love token dating from AD 1836 onwards. It has been cut from a four pence (groat) coin of William IV (AD 1830 - 1837), dated [1]836. See Spink number 3837 (2003, page 399). The obverse has been polished smooth, obliterating the design. The reverse of the coin still has details of the figure of Britannia visible, as well as the first two letters of "FOUR PENCE" and the last three digits of the date: 1836. The coin has been very neatly cut with straight edges into a narrow heart with a pointed base and bilobed top. It is 15.6mm long, 11.5mm wide and 0.8mm thick. 0.8g.

The plate tapers slightly towards the top. The correct orientation is indicated by a stamped crown motif near the lower break on one face. The metal has a grey green patina with red metal below. The fragment is 22.8mm long, 21.7mm wide and 1.9mm thick. 4.9g. The condition of the metal and the shape of the crown both suggest a fairly recent date. The function of this object is not known. A lead alloy Russian bag or bale seal dating from the 18th or 19th century. Both sides carry raised Cyrillic lettering. It reads: NP / [-]H 12 (K) / 1[...] and on the reverse there are four rows, but the letters are mainly illegible owing to damage in the form of two grooves across the face of the seal. Two slots pass obliquely horizontally though the sub-circular disc from side to side. It measures 22.8mm diameter, 5.3mm thick and 14.12g. It has a flaky white patina. A Modern coin; a possible imitation milled shilling of George III dated 1820 and stamped with a letter T in the neck. The coin looks like a New Coinage shilling of 1820, number 3790 in Spink's Standard Catalogue. However, the coin is a millimetre larger than the one illustrated in Spink, at 23.6mm diameter and 1.6mm thick, 5.6g. It has a Roman, serifed T stamped sideways on the neck, the base towards the right of the coin. There is also a dent in the top edge of the coin. In other respects, the coin is in very good condition, though the silver has patinated to a dark brown colour. …

A cast copper alloy scoop or spoon, probably from a 19th century seed drill or similar piece of agricultural machinery. The object has similarities with Roman toilet spoons and ligulae (such as those in Crummy 1983), but the lack of decoration, the thickness of the scoop and shaft and degree of finishing all suggest a Modern date. The object is a rod which is oval in section and cigar shaped, thicker in the middle than at the ends. The rod or shaft is 58mm long.
