A worked bone probable weft beater (or pin beater) of Early Medieval to Medieval date, about AD 700 - 1200, or another similar pointed tool such as a stylus. It is a straight piece of bone, sub-rectangular in plan and oval in cross-section. One end is a worn break. The other end tapers to a blunt central point. The surface is worn and smooth, suggesting age, weathering or prolonged use, but it is not polished. It is 60.7mm long, 11.8mm wide and 8.2mm thick. 6.1g. A copper alloy strap end of Early Medieval date, Thomas class E3, dating from AD 900-1100. The strap end is tongue-shaped (sub-rectangular with a pointed end), with a straight upper edge which splits to accommodate the strap. There are the remains of two copper alloy rivets through the split part. A raised double longitudinal ridge runs down the centre of the front. The front face is also covered with stamped ring and dot motifs. the back is plain. The strap end is 31.1mm long, 15.7mm wide and 4.7mm thick. It weighs 7.64g. It has a grey patina.

A worn, near complete copper-alloy Anglo-Scandinavian strap-end, dating from about AD 1000-1100. The strap-end consists of a narrow body with a bifurcated attachment-end which survives almost intact, with a copper alloy rivet. An Early Medieval cast copper alloy D-shaped buckle with an openwork decorated frame dating from AD 900 - 1000. The buckle has an openwork stranded interlace frame. The frame is D shaped in plan and domed. The bar has the remains of the hinge loops from the plate surviving, but the plate is missing. The pin is also absent. The frame has a black/green patina. Measurements are; length 22.5mm, width 23.8mm, thickness 9.2mm and weight 9.10g. The style of the interlace suggests that it derives from the Scandinavian Borre-style.  See SUR-72BAB2 and SWYOR-CC4246 for comparison.

It is of read Class A, type 1 (sheeting, triangular, and from the small group having a single attachment hole). The tag is constructed from one piece of sheet metal and is undecorated. A badly damaged cast lead object with a hole through it, which is possibly a spindle whorl of Walton Rogers form A1, dating from AD 850 - 1000. The whorl would have been conical, with a central hole of 9.5mm diameter. It has suffered damage and is incomplete. The object is 27.8mm long, 20.7mm wide, 16.8mm thick and weighs 29.60g. If the object is not a spindle whorl, it could be a fixing or adhesive for securing a metal object into a stone one, like an early rawl plug.

A copper alloy stylus, probably of early medieval date, AD 700 - 1100, but possibly Roman. The shaft is circular in cross-section, 4.1mm in diameter, and slightly bent. The eraser is triangular with a slightly convex outer end, which is 12.5mm wide and 1.5mm thick. It tapers and thickens to the shaft. The surface is pitted, but there is no visible decoration.
