A copper alloy Medieval harness pendant dating from about AD 1200 - 1400. It is rectangular, wider than it is tall, with a suspension loop at rght angles to the plane of the pendant projecting from the centre of the upper edge. There is a circular hole in the centre, perhaps where another element was attached. A very faint mark on the pendant suggests that the extra element could have been lozenge shaped. There is little visible decoration, apart from traces of gilding and a very faint suggestion of a stamped annulet or possible border. The pendant has a green patina. It is 40mm long,…

A copper alloy shield shaped harness pendant dating from the Medieval period, about AD 1200 - 1400. It has a chequer board design of alternate gilded and enamelled squares. The enamel was probably blue. The blazon may be described as Checky / Chequey Or and Azure. This design has been attributed to the Warrenne family. The pendant has a broken suspension loop on the straight top side of the shield. It is 25.4mm long, 14.2mm wide and 4.5mm thick. 2.34g.

A medieval copper alloy harness pendant which is 13th to 14th century in date. It is quatrefoil in shape. Within each lobe is a raised foliate design consisting of three 'leaves'. In the centre is a square recessed section surrounded by a raised border within which is a lion en passant. There is much blue enamel surviving on the lobes, and red in the square. . There is an attachment loop at the top which has broken, and the pendant is bent. A copper alloy Medieval horse harness pendant. The pendant is a quatrefoil shape and has a suspension loop that is turned through 90 degrees. The central design is a shield with a lion rampant in the centre. Traces of red enamel survive in the background, and silvering on the charge and the tressure that surrounds the shield. A copper alloy Medieval horse harness pendant. The pendant is circular in shape and has a design of what looks to be a mermaid in the middle of it holding a fish in her right hand and a flower in her left. In heraldry, mermaids are usually depicted holding a comb and a mirror. There is also an inscription around the edge: "+(IE SVI L)[-](MERENI)" meaning 'I am [?]'. A copper-alloy, shield-shaped, medieval horse harness pendant. It is very worn and the heraldic device, if any, is no longer legible. There is a small piece missing from the right-hand edge of the shield. The suspension loop remains in place at the top of the shield, but is broken. It has a light-green patina. It is 56.5mm long, 39.2mm wide, and 5.7thick. It weighs 14.09gm. It probably dates from the 13th or 14th century (Griffiths, the Medieval Horse and its Equipment).

A copper alloy horse harness pendant from the medieval period. The pendant is shaped like a six petalled flower and is openwork with a circular flat disc behind. It is 50.7mm long and 35.7mm wide. The pendant has a flat circular back piece which has damaged edges and is hinged at the top. In the centre of the front of this piece is a large projecting knop. This forms the centre of the flower when the back piece is forwards. A copper alloy shield shaped horse harness pendant from the medieval period. The pendant has a pointed base and curved sides with a flat top. It is bent and distorted. It is 40.2mm long and 25.1mm wide. The only traces of decoration surviving are fragments of gilding on the front. There is a circular projecting lug on the top of the shield in the centre with a circular hole through it from side to side. The lug is 7.8mm thick. The metal is dark brown in colour.
