A complete, copper alloy, post medieval (1550-1700), belt mount or strap fitting. The mount is flat in profile and roughly symmetrical about its length. The outline shape consists of a tear drop body with smaller tri-lobed shapes at each end. On the rear there is a prong at each end for fixing the mount to a leather belt. The mount has a mid green patina over a red brown core. Length 23mm, width 8mm, thickness of plate 1.5mm, weight 1.2g. Depth with prongs 7mm.

Fragment of the external loop of a later medieval or post medieval buckle frame. The fragment is lentoid and thickened in the middle. A notch is present on one edge and it is possible that this is an artefact of movement in the soil rather than a rest for the pin. The fragment has a thick green well formed surface patina. A robust strap slide / tensioning loop most probably from a piece of harness of later post medieval date. The artefact comprises a rectangular bar with an irregular double looped D shaped frame extending from the mid-point. The loops comprise an exterior D shape with a rectangular slot behind. The loop and bar is a mid-dark green colour with a well formed surface patina. Length 31mm, width 38mm, thickness 4.4 mm, weight 11.1g.

A cast copper alloy fragment most probably from a Saddle Pommel of post medieval date (AD 1500-1720). The fragment is sub-rectangular with a domed terminal and C shaped convex cross section. The upper face is decorated with a series of verticle lines which are contained within a incised double border that extends circumferentially around the lower edge. Cast copper alloy hooked strap fitting of probable post-medieval date (1500-1700). The fitting can be divided into two separate parts; the body and the hooked terminal. The body of the fitting is relatively flat with a sub-rectangular cross-section; whereas the hook is sub-triangular (D shaped). The hooked terminal has been formed by bending the upper part of the fitting back upon itself to form a U shaped hook. A near complete Medieval copper alloy single loop sub-triangular buckle dated c AD 1250-1400. The outer edge of the buckle frame is expanded and terminates in a blunted point that is flanked by two small nub-like projections creating an irregular trefoil shaped moulding. The opposing edge has a narrowed and offset strap bar with two terminal knops on either edge. The upper surface of the buckle is decorated with a recessed pin rest flanked by horizontal grooves. An incomplete fragment from a cast Aesica type brooch dating to the early Roman period (c. AD 60 to 80) : The fragment is heavily rolled / abraded and almost all detail is lost. It seems that the undecorated wings are semi-cylindrical in plan with no evidence of wing caps, the spring and pin are lost. A large spinal ridge descend the bow dividing the brooch into two parts. The brooch is also broken across the lower bow and the foot knop is lost. The head of the bow is hump like and the spring, pin and axis bar are all lost. An incomplete cast copper alloy strap distributor / link for a horse harness fitting of later Early Medieval date. The fitting has a flat back and rounded front, it had two loops for straps, connected via a rectangular bar to either side of a barrel shaped central boss. There is a thin groove either side of the boss. The object is missing most of both loops due to ancient breaks. The central boss has a hollowed rear, and the side bars a central groove. The fitting had a green patina over the brown metal. The remains are 44mm long, 12mm wide and 10mm deep, it weighs 14.4g

A near complete but heavily eroded cast copper alloy Roman Trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 150. The bow of the brooch has an angular profile and an angular D shaped cross section. The bow tapers from a flared head to a flared bulbous out-turned foot knop. The head of the brooch is complete, it is oval in plan, and tapers into the bow.
