An incomplete copper-alloy (bronze) cast horse harness fitting or strap distributor, dating from the late Iron age to the early Roman period ( c.50BC-AD50). The object comprises three connected openwork trefoil rings (of which two survives intact) and a probable central motif of a horses head projecting 90 degrees from the centre of the object. The complete rings have an internal diameter of 9.7 mm and 8.8 mm. There are faint signs that the horse's head is decorated with ears and a mane comprised of incised herringbone grooves, and probably a split mouth. Much of the …

A incomplete enamelled harness fitting of probable late Iron Age dating (100 BC to 100 AD). The harness fitting is an irregular shape, almost comma shaped, with a rounded head and a squared tail. The upper surface is flat, with five panels of enamel decoration. The rounded head has three enamel panels, each a lentoid or pointed oval shape, creating a triskele shape between them. Around 25% of the terret is present, consisting of part of the strap bar and one set of wings/lips. The strap bar has a rectangular cross section. The terminal is of the thistle head style, with a flat top.
