It consists of a Lion's Head, and surrounding mane, facing outwards. The detail of the face and mane have been lost through abrasion, but it is possible to identify the eyes, nose and mouth of the lion. An incomplete copper alloy mount of medieval date. It consists of a rectangular plate with concave surface, with a trefoil or fleur-de-lis projection at one end. The outer foils, or leaves of the fleur, each have a circular hole which may originally have been used for attachment. In the centre of the fleur is a diagonal grooved cross or saltire.
