An incomplete copper alloy probable nail cleaner or similar cosmetic article, of probable Post medieval dating (AD 1600 to AD 1800). The probable nail cleaner consists of a flattened terminal with a double rounded end, with a triangular notch below on either side. Beneath this is a rounded oval shape, with a notch at the base on either side. Beneath the oval shape, the nail cleaner gradually tapers to a point and becomes more circular in cross section. An incomplete copper alloy nail cleaner of Late Roman dating (AD 250 to AD 410). Around 50% of the nail cleaner is present. It is of a leaf shape, with each end tapering to a point. A forked end is located at the broad tip, with a short V shaped slot present on one side. The other end narrows to a sharper but rounded point. No decoration can be seen on either face. A cast copper alloy nail cleaner with folded top, of Roman date (1st to 4th Centuries AD). A complete, but slightly bent, cast copper alloy cleaner, similar to Crummy's type 1a (Crummy, 1983, p57). It consists of a narrow plain, straight-sided strip of copper alloy, with a bifurcated tip and a wrapped suspension loop. Traces of gilding survive towards the top of the nail cleaner. The nail cleaner is sub rectangular in plan, and flat in cross section. It consists of a sub rectangular blade with tapering long sides, slowly widening towards the top.
