An incomplete cast copper alloy padlock of Post Medieval date. The padlock is circular in plan and rectangular in section with two protruding lugs at the top which would have originally taken the bar, which is now missing. Iron corrosion around the lugs would suggest that the bar was originally made from iron. A rectangular plate is present, both on the front and the back, positioned longituditionally in the centre. Each plate has been decorated with two ring and dot motifs to either side of the central bar. The metal has a mid greyish-green patina and is worn. The padlock is 26.3 …

An incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester derivative (Dolphin) of Roman date (AD 43 to AD 65). Approximately 75% of the brooch is present, consisting of the head, bow and wings. Part of the catch-plate is present at the base of the bow, but the pin and spring are missing, presumably lost in antiquity. The bow head is hump-like, and angular (comma shaped) in profile. A complete copper alloy multifoil mount, of Medieval dating (AD 1350 to AD 1450). The mount is domed, with a concave underside and is of the multifoil type, having twelve teardrop shaped lobes, six larger than the others. The larger lobes are plain and decorated whereas the smaller lobes have been decorated with three raised pellets. It has been made from a fine grained sedimentary sandstone or siltstone. An old diagonal break along the length is present on the reverse, giving the whetstone fragment the triangular shape.
