The fragment consists of a heart shaped terminal, with two circular perforations (holes). The spur arm has a D shaped cross section, with a flat reverse. Beneath the heart shaped terminal is a moulded rectangular collar, with a straight horizontal groove across it as decoration. An incomplete copper-alloy (bronze) cast horse harness fitting or strap distributor, dating from the late Iron age to the early Roman period ( c.50BC-AD50). The object comprises three connected openwork trefoil rings (of which two survives intact) and a probable central motif of a horses head projecting 90 degrees from the centre of the object.
