A Post Medieval copper alloy rose/orb jetton probably an issue of Jorg (George) Schultes (AD 1515-1559) dating to circa AD 1551-55. Minted in Nuremberg.
The obverse depicts a rose with alternating crowns and fleurs-de-lys surrounding, within an annulet border. The reverse depicts an Imperial orb surmounted by a cross pattee within a double tressure of three arches, with annulets between arches.
IOSV series of jettons, abbreviating the maker's name in the inscription and attributed to Jorg (George) Schultes. cf. Mitchiner (1988, nos. 1309-1317)…
