A complete lead musket ball dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1600-1800). The object is sub spherical is shape with a casting sprue in the upper hemisphere and a casting seam running around its circumference. The object has several pits. The musket ball has a diameter of 14.2 mm and weighs 14.9 g. The musket ball is an off white, light grey colour, with an even surface patina. There are a large number of similar objects recorded on the PAS database, inlcuding: SUR-A2A4A4; SWYOR-8E3D62; and SWYOR-1BE638.

Part of a circular section casting sprue or attachment is present, measuring 3.6 mm in length, with a diameter of 4.5 mm. It is a light to mid grey colour with an even surface patina. The musket ball has a diameter of 11.2 mm and a length of 15.5 mm. It weighs 8.2 g.

The lead shot is spherical in nature, displaying a couple of nicks and a small ridge, probably the remnants of the casting process. It is a mid grey to white colour with an even surface patina. It has a diameter of 14.96mm and weighs 18.1 grams. Shot of this type and weight are normally attributed to use with muskets, and of 17th Century dating onwards.
