An incomplete copper alloy seal matrix, of Medieval dating (AD 1150 to AD 1400).
The seal matrix is of a flat disc type, with a small tab handle on the reverse, situated at 12 o'clock, to enable the matrix to be positioned the correct way up. The back is plain and undecorated. The front of the seal matrix bear a quatrefoil flower design in the centre of the die with debased lys positioned between each flower. The inscription is incomplete. It starts with a debased lys. It is possible to read: SIG SIMO[ ]S NHGIIBER, indicating that the seal belong to Simon, but the location is uncer…
