An incomplete cast white metal (probably pewter) scabbard chape of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (1400 - 1600 AD). The chape appears to have been cast as opposed to being formed from a sheet of white metal, folded and crimped into shape. It is is sub triangular in plan, and pentagonal in cross section. The chape is incomplete, with damage present around the mouth, indicating that it was originally longer. The tip / end of the scabbard is also pentagonal in shape, and is flat.
