An incomplete copper alloy pin, probably of Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 410).
The pin has a rectangular section, which gradually becomes more circular as it tapers towards a blunt tip. The head is incomplete and exhibits incised decoration on three out of the four sides. The decoration consists of four slightly diagonal v shaped grooves, creating a Zig Zag type pattern. A horizontal groove is present on the two flanking sides. Traces of silvering or tinning are present on the surface of the pin.
