An incomplete pair of cast copper alloy nut crackers, of Late Post Medieval to Early Modern dating (17th to 18th Centuries AD).
The nutcrackers consist of one complete arm, and one incomplete, joined at a single point hinge. The complete arm tapers gently from the hinge down towards an acorn shaped molded terminal, in profile the arm is bent inwards slightly. The outer face is decorated by three sets of paired horizontal ribs, and its cross section is semi circular. Below this the arm is plain until the acorn molding.
