An incomplete copper-alloy decorative hinge element from either a box/casket or a book, of Post Medieval dating (c. AD 1500 - c. AD 1700). The hinge section is roughly rectangular with three rectangular protrusions, which would have created the hinge junction. Beneath these protrusions is a squared piece of sheet metal, with rounded corners. Two holes are present in it, currently with two circular round rivets still in situ. A complete copper alloy hinge, probably from a book or a box, probably of Post Medieval dating (AD 1500 to AD 1800). The hinge is in two sections. The lower part is sub triangular in shape, with a pointed base. A key shaped hole is present in the centre, and the top of this section is wrapped around the axis bar in the upper part.
