A complete gold and gem finger ring, of Post Medieval dating (AD 1600 to AD 1700).
The finger ring has a distorted hoop of 'D-shaped' section, widening from the back to the bezel. Each shoulder is decorated by a central longitudinal ridge, which terminates by splitting and diverging to either side. A short longituditional groove is present between the forked ridge. The box bezel contains a French or cushion cut clear transparent gem. The sides of the box bezel flare slightly towards the open top. All four sides of the setting have a line of sub-oval perforations.
