A copper alloy Post Medieval pipe tamper in the form of a figurine of Mercury, dating from AD 1600 - 1800. This object was originally mis-identified as a Romano-British figurine dating from AD 43 - 410. The anthropomorphic figurine is naked but has no genitals depicted. The figure's left arm and right foot are missing. The god wears a helmet from which spring large wings, moulded with longitudinal grooves and transverse dashes to represent feathers on both faces. A complete lead or lead alloy hand figurine, probably of Post Medieval (AD 1600 to AD 1800). A right hand has been modelled, with the thumb outstretched and the fingers held together. There is a gap between the first and second fingers. The tops of all four fingers join together. On the palm side, the thumb muscles are pronounced, along with those beneath the fingers.
