An incomplete copper alloy probable balance arm, of probable Medieval dating (AD 1000 to AD 1200). Around 25% of the probable balance arm is present, consisting of a circular terminal and part of the arm. The rest of the balance is missing, presumed lost in antiquity. The arm has a rectangular cross section. One end is complete, with a circular suspension terminal (internal diameter 1.4 mm). The terminal is separated from the rest of the arm by a rectangular bar. The balance arm has a plain spherical terminal (diameter 6.3 mm)at one end, and an incomplete forked end at the other. This end exhibits an old break across a circular hole. The forked end has been flattened. Between both ends, the balance arm has a circular cross section. A U shaped notch is present 19.7 mm away from the spherical terminal.
