An incomplete lead alloy ampulla of the Medieval period dating from c. AD 1200 - c. AD 1400. The lead flask is rounded with a tall sub-rectangular flaring neck and retains the stubs of an attachment loop on left and right hand sides. The faces of the object would have been flat or slightly convex, but have been pressed in, or flattened. Both faces have cast raised line decoration, oen side has a crown above a cross hatched heart. An incomplete lead alloy ampulla of the Medieval period dating from c. AD 1200 - c. AD 1400. Around 50% of the ampulla is present, consisting of the rounded base. The designs on both sides are unclear. It has a length of 29.4 mm, a width of 29.6 mm and is 6.5 mm thick. It weighs 20.0 g. The ampulla is a mid grey colour with an even surface patina. It is sub rectangular in shape, with an incomplet horizontal linear upper edge and a narrowed neck, and circular body. This horizontal edge of the ampulla appears to be pushed together. A complete lead alloy ampulla of Medieval dating (AD 1250 to AD 1500). The ampulla consists of a square shaped neck, with a flat circular shaped base. The neck has been squashed closed. The two attachment loops are present at the shoulder between the neck and the base. The design on the front of the ampulla is a pointed oval design, and on the back an eight petalled flower. A complete lead alloy costrel-shaped ampulla of Medieval dating (Mid 13th to 14th Centuries AD). The ampulla takes the shape of a cylindrical costrel. It has a cylindrical ribbed body, with circular ends. Crosshatching is visible between each of the ribs. The neck is located centrally, with only one of two angular suspension handles surviving. One end bears an eight petalled flower, within a circular border. A piercing is present on one side, probably using a knife, this would have been done to release the holy water. The top of the vessel is missing, presumed lost in antiquity.
