A silver shilling of George II (1727 to 1760), dating to 1758. Minted at the London Mint. C.f. Spink, 2011, p 401, no 3704. Coin has been pierced at 11 o'clock on the obverse. Diameter: 25.4 mm Thickness: 1.3 mm Weight: 5.8 g This coin is less than 300 years old, and although it has been pierced, there is no other evidence that it was removed from circulation to function as a pendant. As such, it falls outside of the requirements of the Treasure Act 1996 and should be considered to be Not Treasure.

Spink, p157, no 6581. Diameter: 24.1 mm Thickness: 2.1 mm Weight: 4.8 g These were official tokens issued in Ireland when James was attempting to recover the English throne and and were supposed to be exchanged for silver coins of equivalent value. They were made from old cannon, bells and scrap metal. James failed in his attempt and the coins were never exchanged.
