A small coin hoard of six coins, of Late Post Medieval dating (AD 1680s onwards). Five of the coins are from the issues of Charles II, four guineas, which will be of the 22 carat 'crown gold' standard and one shilling, which will be of the sterling standard, over 90% fine metal. These coins would have been in currency together in the later 17th or early 18th century and the absence of any coins of the later Stuarts or early Hanoverians makes it seem unlikely that it is a group from much later than around 1690. ~~A gold composite jewellery fitting. The back plate is formed by an oval sheet with a twisted rope like border. Three circular sectioned wire loops are present on either side. These have been soldered to a collar made from a strip of gold, set at right angles, running around the inside of the rope border. This collar would have secured the original gem in place. An incomplete gold dental plate, of late Post-Medieval to modern dating. The plate was designed to fit the lower jaw. The plate has one straight edge and one ridged which would fit between remaining teeth. A flattened panel is present onto which the false teeth would have been fitted. One semi-circular loop is present. This would have secured the dental plate around existing teeth, presumably in this case around the lower second molar.
