A silver half groat of Henry VII, minted in Canterbury, (jointly with Archbishop Morton?) between 1486-1500. There is no M in the centre of the reverse and it has been been clipped. The initial mark is a Tun. It has a double arched crown. No stops are legible so it can not be determined whether it is Class IIIa/IIIb or IIIc. It is similar to North type 1712 (volume 2, page 102).
Obverse: Double arched crowned head.
Obverse inscription: hENRIC [ ]AR
Reverse: Three pellets in each quarter.
Reverse Inscription: CIVI TAS CAN TOR
Initial Mark: Tun
Reference: North, Vol 2, …
