A fragment of a post Medieval stoneware rim sherd with a horizontal ridge. Possibly a Raeren-type, or possibly an Aachen-type (1300 - 1800). A wheel thrown vessel. The fabric is hard fired with a grey core and brownish yellow inner and outer surfaces (Munsell Colour: 10YR 6/6). Above the ridge there is a line of impressed marks forming an abstract design that vaguely resembles letters. The distance between the rounded rim and the rib is 22.2mm.
