Incomplete copper-alloy suspension mount for a horse-harness pendant, dating from c.1200 to c. 1400.
The find consists of a plate, originally square or rectangular but now much abraded. One edge has two rectangular projections (each approx 4.5 mm wide), which would have been folded around a bar to create a hinge for the pendant. The projections have broken at the point of folding.
The plate has four rivet holes, located one in each corner. One domed copper alloy rivet is present in one of the holes at the lower edge, above the projections for the hinge.
