The strap fitting or strap slide consists of a domed boss with an expanding armed cross, with angles formed by rounded hollows. On the lower side projects a rounded loop with an oval aperture. A copper alloy stirrup strap mount, of Early Medieval dating (eleventh century dating). The mount is probably of Williams Class A mounts, Type 16. It is sub-rectangular in shape and has an rounded perforated apex for attachment. It is slightly convexed. The flange at the bottom is a common right angled flange, and the two rivet holes are located above the flange on the front plate. The bit link has broken through the plain oval loop, as is often the case, with around half of the loop now missing. The complete end has a lozenge shaped terminal, with a central oval shaped perforation (12.7 mm by 9.2 mm). The terminal has knops on three outer points.
