A complete cast or deep drawn silver domed thimble, with maker's mark, of Early Modern Dating (19th Century onwards).
The thimble is of a domed type, similar to that known as Dutch or English type III, manufactured between 1730 and 1800 (Holmes, 1988). It consists of straight sides, and a domed top. The sides are covered by a series of circular indentations, each with a surrounding rim, positioned in horizontal rows. It looks hand made as opposed to machine made as the indentation rows do not always match up. The base of the thimble is decorated by a narrow rouletted band.
