Incomplete Late Iron Age to Early Roman copper alloy Aesica or Rosette brooch dating to the period c. 20 BC - AD 60. The pin mechanism and part of the catchplate are missing. The head exhibits C-shaped wings which would have housed the sprung pin mechanism, now missing. The bow arches back from the head, arching downwards to a base in the centre of the rosette-shaped back plate. It exhibits a central longitudinal ridge. An incomplete copper alloy Colchester brooch, of Late Iron Age to early Roman date (AD 25 to AD 60). Approximately 75% of the brooch is present, consisting of the bow, wings, head, part of the spring, and an incomplete catch plate. The pin, and the rest of the spring are missing, presumed lost in antiquity. In plan, the brooch is almost T-shaped, and D-shaped in cross section. An incomplete enamelled copper alloy strap slide or fitting, of Late Iron Age to Early Roman dating (200 BC to AD 100). The strap fitting is sub rectangular in shape. The front has been decorated with a high relief design, within a wide border. Remnants of red enamel survive in the recesses of the design. The design consists of two petals (pointed ovals with a central circle), set at an angle and joined together by the stalk. A fragment of a possible ceramic loomweight. The fragment is 18.30mm thick and weighs 20.1g. It is 36.69mm long and 31.95mm wide. The fragment has a fabric consists of frequent fine sand particles, with occasional large rounded quartz particles. The remains of a suspension hole is present on the interior surface of the fragment. The size of the fragment means it is hard to determine the original shape of the loom weight, be it either pyramidal or cyclindrical.
