A complete copper alloy buckle chape of Post Medieval dating (AD 1600 to AD 1800). The chape has a single sharp point, with a hinge at the bottom. The base of the chape has concave sides before terminating in another probable hinge. A maker's mark is present beneath the sharp point on the obverse. It measures 33.3 mm in length, 15.3 mm wide and 3.9 mm thick. It weighs 3.3 g. The chape is a mid to dark green colour, with an even surface patina.
