It is triangular in shape. Triangular blades extend from either side, with a central rib on both sides. An incomplete copper alloy Colchester derivative (double-pierced lug) brooch, of Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 100). Approximately 50% of the brooch is present, consisting of the bow, wings, head, and an incomplete catch plate. The pin and spring are missing, presumed lost in antiquity. In plan, the brooch is almost T-shaped, and D-shaped in cross section. The bow head is hump-like, and angular (comma shaped) in profile, with flat rectangular wings projecting from either side at the top.
