An incomplete cast copper alloy padlock, of Post Medieval dating (16th Century to mid 19th Centuries AD).
Only the front plate to the padlock, with a rectangular plate to cover the keyhole is present. It is circular in plan, with two protruding lugs at the top of the plate. These lugs would have originally taken the bar, which is now missing. The presence of iron corrosion products around the area of the lugs and on the reverse would suggest that the bar and central section of the padlock was originally made from iron.
