A complete lead or lead alloy biconvex spindle whorl, of possible Medieval dating (AD 1100 to AD 1450).
The spindle whorl is sub circular in shape, and lentoid in cross section. The central hole is sub circular in shape and has been cast slightly off central. The internal diameter of the hole measures 9.5 mm wide. The upper face has been decorated with several raised diagonal lines, possibly imitating letters but no actual letters can be determined. The lower face is undecorated.
The whorl has a diameter of 32.3 mm and is 9.2 mm thick. It weighs 44.1 g (1.56 oz).

An incomplete cast lead or lead alloy bi-convex decorated spindle whorl, of Medieval dating (1100 - 1450 AD).
The spindle whorl is sub circular in plan, and lentoid in cross section. The upper face has been decorated with groups of four raised pellets, separated by an arrow shape, arranged in an approximate circular pattern. The lower face exhibits several raised diagonal lines, creating a star like design. The central hole is circular in shape and has been cast approximately centrally. The internal diameter of the hole measures 8.4 mm wide.

The spindle whorl is sub circular in shape, and lentoid in section. A raised rim is present around the central hole and the edge. Both the upper and lower faces have been decorated with the raised decoration, forming an inscription. The inscription is worn, so the lettering is hard to determine. The spindle whorl is sub circular in shape, and lentoid in section. Both the upper and lower faces have been decorated with raised decoration. One side has a repeating design involving a cross; a six petalled flower with a pellet centre and a U. The other side is decorated with an ovolo (egg and dart) style design. The central hole is circular in shape and has been cast / set roughly central. It has a internal diameter of 7.6 mm.
