A complete copper alloy annular brooch of Medieval dating (c.AD 1250-1400). The brooch is circular in plan with a frame that is, barring decorative feature, D-shaped in cross section with a flat reverse and convex upper surface. The outer face is also decorated with six raised broadly hexagonal collets that are taller and wider than the frame of the brooch. The brooch has short wings with vertical fluting, which are surmounted by an integrally cast loop and conceal a cylindrical case retaining an axis bar for a hinged pin. The frame has a lentoid cross section and is circular in shape with a recessed area. This recessed area still contains the original pin.
