A rimsherd of a wheel thrown ceramic vessel, of Roman dating (2nd to 4th Centuries AD). The sherd consists of a rimsherd, in a fabric is similar to that of local (unsourced) greyware, consistent with 2nd to 4th Century AD dating. The rim type is that of a rounded everted type, probably consistent with a storage bowl or jar. Not enough of the rim is present to allow an accurate determination of original rim diameter. An incomplete copper alloy crossbow (heavy) brooch, of Late Roman dating (AD 320 to AD 400). Around 25% of the brooch is present, consisting of the head, a wing, and part of the bow. The head and the remaining wing have an onion shaped terminal (collared biconvex knop with large central pellet). The reverse of the central knop is deeply gashed, with a fragment of the hinged iron pin retained in the slot below.
