A complete black annular / ring shale bead of probable Roman dating (AD 43 to AD 410). It is circular in plan. It has convex sides, with the edges flattened, almost an oblate form. Slight horizontal ridges are present along the edge. The central perforation has been located slightly off centre, it has parallel sides, with an internal diameter of 4.21 mm. The bracelet is a mid to dark green colour, with an even surface patina. Abrasion, caused by movement whilst within the plough soil, has resulted in a loss of some of the original surface detail.
