The coin appears to be quite base, and the style of the coin is not entirely consistent with Series A2 or A3, perhaps indicating this to be a contemporary imitation (cf. A complete copper-alloy strap-end with silver rivets, of 9th-century date, now slightly bent. Description: The strap-end is made from a piece of copper alloy with a split attachment end. This is shaped around two well-preserved silver rivets whose heads are of different sizes. Below the rivets is a semi-circular or fan-shaped field, engraved with a trilobate motif.
